EFC Newport will be participating in “National Porn Sunday”

This Sunday, Feb. 6, EFC Newport will be participating in “National Porn Sunday” along with 300 other churches from across the US. This event is sponsored by XXXchurch, which is a Christian ministry “designed to bring awareness, openness and accountability to those affected by pornography.”

Why is EFC doing this? Two reasons:

1) God placed it on our heart and we must be obedient to Him.
2) We believe it is our responsibility to Jesus Christ and his people to tackle the tough issues that many of us struggle with, especially regarding this national epidemic.
During the message time, Pastor Paul will speak words of truth and hope from God’s word regarding pornography.

If you do not feel comfortable with your child/teen sitting through the sermon, they can join the other children downstairs in their age appropriate classrooms. For this particular Sunday, teens have the option to report to the 9—12 year old class in the youth room after they are dismissed during either worship service.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact our Spiritual Life Elder, Adam Fagan at 401-297-1291 or Fagan.kela@gmail.com

We encourage you to invite a friend, neighbor or family member to attend EFC with you! This is an issue that they or someone they love may be dealing with.

Lastly, we understand that some of you may be feeling uncomfortable. We affirm your feelings yet we kindly ask you not to skip church this Sunday. We are convinced that God has a message of purity and healing that we all need to hear.

In Christ,
EFC Newport

  1. This is such an important issue that the church needs to address. Many people have struggled with it or continue to struggle with it and the only way to defeat it is to talk and pray about it openly. Also, I think it’s great that NFL players and other professional athletes are lending their support to the effort as well.
